1. About these terms

These terms cover the Wovenleaf mobile app and this website. Wovenleaf is provided by Hector Miguel Rodriguez Sosa, based in Spain ("we", "us", or "our"). "You" means the person using the app or website.

Please read these terms before using Wovenleaf. By using the app, you agree to them to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, please stop using it. The privacy policy explains how information is handled; accepting these terms is not consent to unrelated data processing.

2. Using Wovenleaf

Wovenleaf is a personal book tracker, EPUB reader, and audiobook player. It stores your library on your device and does not require a Wovenleaf account or provide a Wovenleaf cloud library. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the app in accordance with these terms and the rules of the app store through which you obtain it.

You must be legally able to agree to these terms, or use Wovenleaf with the involvement of a parent or guardian where required. Use the app lawfully. Do not use it to infringe others’ rights, distribute unlawful content, or interfere with third-party services. Licenses for open-source components continue to govern those components.

3. Your files and copyright

You choose the EPUBs, audiobooks, cover images, text, and other material you import. You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to import, copy, read, listen to, export, or share that material. That right may come from ownership of the relevant rights, a license, permission, the public domain, or an exception under applicable law. Having a copy of a file does not by itself give you every right to use it.

Wovenleaf does not ask for proof of purchase or verify the ownership or licensing history of locally imported files. Technical acceptance of a file is not confirmation that its source or use is lawful. Responsibility for your sources and uses remains yours, including any infringement resulting from your actions.

Wovenleaf does not provide a service for uploading, hosting, or distributing your imported book files. Importing a file does not transfer its ownership to us or give us a license to publish it. Wovenleaf does not grant rights in third-party books, remove digital rights management (DRM), or authorize bypassing access controls. Protected or incompatible files may not work.

4. Goodreads imports

Wovenleaf reads Goodreads CSV exports you select or share with the app, prepares a local preview, and imports the changes you confirm. Goodreads sign-in and export creation take place on Goodreads’ own website; Wovenleaf does not need your Goodreads password or synchronize changes back to it.

Import only exports you are entitled to use. Review the preview and keep your original export: changes to the CSV format, incomplete records, or matching errors can affect the result. Missing covers may be looked up automatically through Open Library, as described in the privacy policy. Wovenleaf is independent of, and is not endorsed by, Goodreads.

5. Third-party services

Online book searches, ISBN lookups, and cover retrieval use Open Library, an Internet Archive project. Book information and images may be incomplete, incorrect, or unavailable. Their availability and any rights in their content are governed by the relevant providers and rights holders.

App stores, websites you open, file providers you choose, and other third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices. Wovenleaf is not affiliated with those providers merely because it supports their exports, links to them, or uses their technology. Internet access and any charges from your network provider remain your responsibility.

6. Your device and backups

Keep your device secure and maintain copies of important files. Deleting app data, uninstalling the app, losing a device, or a storage failure can permanently remove your library and imported files. We do not hold a server copy from which we can restore them.

Local recovery points are on the same device and are not a substitute for a separate backup. Review each export’s contents: some formats are not restorable, and book files or voice recordings may be excluded. Exports are not encrypted by Wovenleaf. You are responsible for where you save them and for having permission to share any included content.

7. Availability and liability

We aim to make Wovenleaf reliable, but cannot promise that every book or file will work, that third-party services will remain available, or that the app will always be free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, the app and website are provided "as is" and "as available", without additional warranties beyond those required by law.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by your unlawful use of imported content, failures of services outside our control, or indirect or unforeseeable losses. These terms do not exclude responsibility for our fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited. Your mandatory consumer rights, including applicable rights to remedies for defective digital content, remain intact.

8. Changes and stopping use

You can stop using Wovenleaf at any time. Export what you need before removing the app or its data. We may release updates or change features for compatibility, security, or other reasonable product needs, subject to any obligations we have under applicable law.

If these terms change, we will publish the revised version here with a new effective date. For material changes, we will give any advance notice and obtain any agreement required by law. Changes do not remove rights or claims you already have.

9. Your legal rights

These terms do not deprive you of mandatory protections under the law where you live or prevent you from bringing a claim in any court available to you under applicable law. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent legally possible.

10. Contact

For questions about these terms or concerns about Wovenleaf itself, contact Hector Miguel Rodriguez Sosa at support@wovenleaf.app. We cannot inspect, retrieve, or remotely remove files stored only on someone else’s device.
